CYO Sports at St. Helen School: Building Character and Teamwork

At St. Helen School, we are proud to offer a comprehensive CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) sports program that enriches the lives of our students and emphasizes the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development. We believe in the power of athletics to shape well-rounded individuals and provide opportunities for our students to excel both on and off the field.

Fall Sports

  • Football: Our football program teaches not only the fundamentals of the game but also the importance of discipline and teamwork. Players learn how to strategize and work together to achieve success.
  • Volleyball: Volleyball at St. Helen is all about building agility, coordination, and fostering a love for the sport. Our teams learn the fundamentals and develop strong communication skills.
  • Soccer: Soccer is a game that brings excitement and camaraderie to our school. Our soccer teams develop their skills on the field while also learning about sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Cross Country: Cross country is an endurance sport that encourages self-discipline and a strong work ethic. Our athletes learn the value of perseverance as they push their limits.

Winter Sports

  • Basketball: Our basketball program focuses on the fundamentals of the game, from dribbling to shooting and teamwork. Players not only improve their athletic skills but also develop discipline and sportsmanship.
  • Wrestling: Wrestling at St. Helen promotes physical fitness, discipline, and mental toughness. Athletes learn the art of strategy and self-control on the mat.

Spring Sports

  • Track & Field: Track and field offers a variety of events, allowing students to discover their strengths, whether it's sprinting, jumping, or throwing. The program emphasizes individual improvement and teamwork in relay events.
  • Baseball: Our baseball teams develop their skills in batting, pitching, and fielding, all while learning the importance of teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship.
  • Softball: Softball is not only a fun and fast-paced sport but also a great way for our students to learn cooperation and strategic thinking on the field.
